How to Bring Up the “Exclusive Relationship” to Him:
You’ve been dating a man for a few months. Everything is going great…you have an amazing time every time you see him and he feels the same way about you. You start to feel like, you really want to only date him and no one else…but you’re not sure how to bring up being in an “exclusive relationship” with him.
Every time you’re around him, you try to hint that you only want to date him, but he just doesn’t seem to catch on. So, now you’re feeling like you really need to have the “exclusive relationship” talk with him….but, how?!
This is a very tricky situation, as even though he may be feeling the same way about you, if you bring up the “exclusive relationship” too soon…it could make him disappear. So, what is the best way to bring up being in an exclusive relationship with him?
Here’s Zan’s best tips on how to bring up the exclusive relationship to him. His main emphasis is, it’s all in the way you bring it up to the man you’re dating.
- Keep it light, when you bring it up…otherwise it can bring down the mood of the relationship
- Be curious about the relationship, not demanding about what you want
- Never, ever say, “we need to talk!”
- Make sure your tone isn’t demanding
- A ‘serious’ conversation with a man is good, a ‘heavy’ conversation is not
Your intent in bringing up the exclusive relationship, shouldn’t be to get him to commit…it should be to find out how he’s feeling about you too.
The most important thing to remember is, it’s a conversation between you two about the relationship. It’s not just about what you want…it’s about what you both want in the relationship.
